Our classroom rules come from the Whole Brain Teaching method. This is a research-based method where a variety of instructional strategies are used to allow students use all parts of their brain during class time. Students will use gestures, visual cues, and oral responses throughout lessons to maintain a high level of engagement.
Classroom Rules
1. Follow directions quickly.
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
4. Make smart choices.
5. Keep your dear teacher happy!
Please note: Students who do not turn their homework in on time will change their color on the behavior chart.
Positive Consequences
1. Cougar Cash: Students earn Cougar Cash for turning in homework completed and on time. Students can use Cougar Cash to buy fun coupons to use in class! (ex: Wear a hat in class, first choice seating)
2. Group Points: The group that earns the most points earns special privileges!
3. Stars towards the Super Improver Wall: Students earn stars for showing improvement in academics and behavior. Stars can also be earned for following the class rules. Once students earn 10 stars, they move up a level. Once they reach the top, something special happens!
